Couples seem to absolutely love this area (and I can see why), especially when the sun sets and the whole cityscape starts glowing. The room I stayed in faced the river, and I mean — wow. These aren’t just windows, they’re basically picture frames showcasing one of China’s most dramatic urban landscapes. What I appreciated most was how quiet everything felt despite being in such a bustling city. The soundproofing actually works, which is something you definitely notice after a day of exploring Chongqing’s busy streets.

The hotel’s restaurant serves both international and local Sichuan cuisine — and honestly, don’t skip the local dishes if you can handle some heat. There’s also a well-equipped fitness center and spa facilities that feel like a genuine retreat after walking around this hilly city all day. Parking is available too, though if you’re planning to explore the city center, I’d actually recommend using the metro or taxis since Chongqing traffic can be… well, let’s just say it’s an experience.

  I have been to this hotel several times, it is very clean and well organized, the problem for us Westerners is the poor knowledge of the English language and the only Chinese breakfast. I understand that the Chinese presence is predominant but if Chongquin wants to attract intercontinental visitors it must make itself international.

  My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton Chongqing. The suite we stayed in, with a “river-view,” was outstanding. The staff were all very friendly and the complimentary breakfast had a wide and delicious selection to choose from. When we return next year to visit Chongqing, we will definitely stay at the Sheraton Chongqing.
