The Room Experience

My room was compact but thoughtfully designed, which seems to be the sweet spot for this type of urban hotel. The windows actually open — something you don’t always get in newer buildings — and the view over Xie Jia Wan Main Street gives you that authentic slice of Chongqing street life. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for a three-star, and the bathroom, while not huge, had everything you need including a decent shower with good water pressure. I mean, when you’re exploring a city like Chongqing all day, you really just want a clean, comfortable place to crash.

Breakfast Worth Mentioning

The breakfast buffet actually impressed me more than I expected. They’ve got this interesting mix going on — traditional Asian options sitting right next to American classics, plus solid vegetarian choices that don’t feel like an afterthought. The congee was particularly good, and they do this thing with fresh local vegetables that you don’t see everywhere. It’s served in the restaurant area which doubles as a common space, so there’s this nice buzz in the mornings with travelers comparing notes about their Chongqing adventures.

  The manager Rebecca was exceptional . She understood well the limitations of a foreigner and had everything so easily explained in her messages . They took personal care in the breakfast menu to suit the western tastebuds.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing really but the property is a bit complicated to get to . Having said that , the manager ensures a smooth route , so it really isn’t a problem .

  Nice location if you want to be at somewhere a bit outside the city. The metro is also very handy via the mall itself. The breakfast is nice as you can order either noodle or wanton. The room is also quite spacious. The free clean and drying services are really helpful.

  Every aspect of the stay.
  Room was very comfortable, spacious and fully furnished (inc. body lotion, good quality coffee and tea, higher-end amenities etc.)
  Scott, Rebecca and her team were extremely helpful, diligent and kind. The services and care offered by the hotel and its staff throughout the stay did enrich my general experience of, and trip in Chongqing.
  
  Can only recommend to others and wont miss to choose this hotel or another Wuyu of the group for/if any futur trip in the city comes by.

  Although they have limited English but The staff were very helpful especially Rebecca. She communicates in English, very responsive in replying messages and also very helpful and supportive.

  The location of hotel is great. It is right in a big shopping mall . Shopping, having coffee and having a bite to eat are all convenient. The staff are very friendly, they give me more help., whether it's answering questions or arranging transportation, they always smile, making me feel wanderful of Chongqing.
