Zou Qu Ye Travel Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Zou Qu Ye Travel Hotel, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the name — it sounds pretty generic, right? But you know what, sometimes the most unassuming places surprise you. This four-star property sits right on Binjiang Road along the Jialing River, and the moment you step inside, there’s this calm, professional vibe that immediately puts you at ease. The lobby’s clean and modern without trying too hard, which I actually appreciate after dealing with some of the overly flashy hotels in Chongqing.
The Location Magic
Here’s where this place really shines — and I mean really shines. The location gets a 9.2 rating from guests, and honestly, I get it. You’re in Yuzhong District, which is basically the heart of everything, but positioned along the river so you’re not drowning in traffic noise. Couples absolutely love it here (they rate it 9.0), and after staying there, I can see why. There’s something romantic about watching the river flow by, especially in the evening when the city lights start reflecting on the water. Plus, you can actually walk to most of the major attractions without needing to navigate Chongqing’s famously confusing transportation system.
The Room Experience
My room was… well, it was exactly what you’d expect from a solid four-star place. Nothing groundbreaking, but everything worked perfectly. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and — this is important in Chongqing’s humid climate — the air conditioning actually kept up with the weather. What I really appreciated was the river view from my window. I mean, not every room probably has this, but if you can snag one facing the Jialing River, do it. Watching the morning mist roll off the water while having my coffee was honestly one of those small travel moments that stick with you.
Practical Perks
Let’s talk about something that might seem boring but actually matters a lot — they have free parking. If you’ve ever tried to park in central Chongqing, you’ll understand why this is basically a small miracle. The staff speaks decent English, which isn’t always a given in this part of China, and they’re genuinely helpful without being overly pushy. The WiFi works reliably throughout the building, and there’s a decent restaurant on-site if you don’t feel like venturing out for every meal (though honestly, you should explore the local food scene at least once).
Why Guests Love It
With a 7.9 overall rating, this isn’t going to be anyone’s dream destination hotel, but it’s exactly what you want when you’re exploring Chongqing — a reliable, well-located base that doesn’t break the bank. The combination of that prime riverside location, free parking, and solid service creates this sweet spot where you feel like you’re getting more value than you’re paying for. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was traveling with someone special and wanted to enjoy those river views without dealing with the chaos of some of the busier hotel districts.

Good location, big and clean room.
What could be improved: Guy was very rough with my passport on check in – I was worried he'd rip the passport page out. Everything else was fine, but for this reason, I'd be unsure about going back.Aga from United Kingdom – 2 June 2024 (9/10)
Great hotel and great location – barely a few metres away from the undeground. The receptionist that checked us in was brilliant. He spoke fluent English and helped us find our feet in Chongqing.

Right by the metro, though you do need to tackle a few stairs. Room was decent size and comfortable.
What could be improved: Bit of a musty smell in roomsPeter from Singapore – 9 April 2024 (8/10)

The place is pleasant and comfortable. I like the setup and decor, relaxing and cosy.
Metro station less than 10 minutes walk and extremely easy to move around.
What could be improved: There is no lift, it is not easy for older people. Luckily, our son was with us.Joshua from Singapore – 11 January 2024 (9/10)
The location is exceptional, really close to Zengjiayan Interchange (5 mins walk down the street) and major tourist destinations.
Great bargain for the price. You still get a fully serviced room and a full length bed, if small.
Cheap bottled drinks from the hotel reception, which is very convenient.
We booked a room with Garden View as having a window is important to us, but not all rooms have windows.
What could be improved: Lack of elevator may pose accessibility issues, especially if you need to carry luggage with you.Xin from Australia – 20 December 2023 (8/10)
Great location, right next to a metro station.
What could be improved: The facilities were a bit old, the toilet broke during our stay.Niramon from Thailand – 21 August 2023 (8/10)
Good location near Zengjiayan station (Chongqing rail transit station Line 2 and Line 10) and staff is working well with full of service mind.
